Frequently Asked Questions

Super Speedy Plugins

Short answers to the most common questions about Super Speedy Coming Soon Products. For step-by-step setup, see the Quick Start Guide.

Does this require WooCommerce?

Yes. The plugin extends WooCommerce products, so WooCommerce must be installed and active. It marks individual products as “coming soon” — it is not a whole-site “coming soon / maintenance mode” plugin.

Do I need a MailerLite account?

You need either a MailerLite account (for the built-in MailerLite integration) or the Super Speedy Emails plugin. Without one of these configured, the signup form still works and records signups in the local table, but they won’t be added to any mailing list. See Email Providers.

Can I use different email providers for different products?

Yes. The email provider is chosen per product, so you can use MailerLite for one product and Super Speedy Emails for another. See Email Providers.

Does it work with variable, grouped, and external products?

Yes. The plugin replaces the add-to-cart area for all product types and doesn’t require a price to be set, so it works on simple, variable, grouped, and external products alike.

Where are signups stored?

In two places for MailerLite products: a local database table (wp_sscs_signups) on your site, and your MailerLite group. Super Speedy Emails products store signups in the SSE plugin instead. See Viewing & Exporting Your Signups.

How does the referral system work?

After signing up, customers see share buttons. Anyone who signs up through a shared link is recorded as having been referred by the original customer, so you can reward your best promoters. See Referral & Sharing System.

Can the same person sign up twice?

No duplicate is created. Signups are keyed on the email address — a repeat signup with the same email keeps the existing record rather than adding a second one.

Is the signup form protected against spam and bots?

Yes. It includes a honeypot field and always-on per-IP rate limiting, plus optional Cloudflare Turnstile CAPTCHA for sites under heavier attack. See Spam & Abuse Protection.

Does the countdown timer require an arrival date?

The countdown needs a valid Arrival Date (YYYY-MM-DD) to count down to. If you leave it blank the form still works, but the timer won’t display correctly. Once the date passes, the timer hides itself automatically.

Will it slow down my site?

No. The plugin’s CSS and JavaScript are only loaded on single product pages that are actually marked as coming soon — every other page is unaffected.

What happens when the product launches?

Edit the product and untick Mark as Coming Soon. The normal WooCommerce add-to-cart button reappears immediately; nothing else needs changing.

The coming soon content doesn’t appear / appears in the wrong place. Why?

This is almost always a theme hook issue. See the theme-compatibility notes in the Quick Start Guide and the fixes in Troubleshooting.

Is customer data shared with third parties?

Email addresses are sent to MailerLite (for MailerLite products), and IP addresses go to Cloudflare only if you enable Turnstile. See Privacy & Data Handling.
